To repay our volunteer friends on the International Volunteer Day of December 5, the Social Affairs Bureau of Taichung City Government joined hands with Taichung Huludun Cultural Center (臺中市立葫蘆墩文化中), Taichung Tun District Art Center (屯區藝文中心), Taichung Wonderful Cinemas (臺中萬代福影城), and Dongshi Forest of Changhua County Farmers Association (彰化縣農會東勢林場) to hold a series of exciting activities, to which volunteers are admitted free of charge. Wang Xiu-yan (王秀燕), Director-general of Social Affairs Bureau, invited all the volunteers to enjoy the programs.
On the International Volunteer Day (December 5), "Love Is All Around", the Taichung City volunteer song, was aired in Taichung City Hall on Zhong-gang Road, Yangming Building, every district office, and the campus of each elementary and junior high school in Taichung. Moreover, the song would be also played on Taichung Radio Station, Taichung Spring Breeze Radio, Classical Music Radio Station, and Broadcasting Corporation of China. It was estimated that 5,000 people would share “the flow of love”.
Sponsored by Social Affairs Bureau together with Taichung City Huludun Cultural Center and Taichung Tun District Art Center, "Money and Honey" (麵包情人), a documentary film, will be broadcast twice in December to treat the volunteers. In addition, free admissions to Taichung Wonderful Cinemas and Dongshi Forest Farmers Association of Changhua County are offered to the volunteers, too.
Social Affairs Bureau said that from December 5 to December 31, any volunteer from Taichung City presenting his/her national identity card, volunteer service registration book, or volunteer service honorary card will be admitted free of charge to Taichung Wonderful Cinemas or Dongshi Forest without any limitation to visiting time and frequency.
Director-general Wang pointed out that the annual “payback” programs have been in action. “All our volunteer friends please grasp the rare opportunities to relax yourselves by inviting your volunteer partners to travel and enjoy movies. I hope all of you can sustain your voluntary services to Taichung and build Taichung City into a place full of love and happiness,” added Wang.
