Summer holidays are here! "My Home Town Taichung" exhibition is also being held here at the1st floor atrium, Wenxin Building, Taichung New City Hall located on Taiwan Boulevard. The event is being co-hosted by nine (9) bureaus of Taichung City Government, including Cultural Affairs, Land Administration, Transportation, Construction, Urban Development, Economic Development, Environmental Protection, Agriculture, and Tourism and Travel. Open to the public from 8 am to 5:00 pm every day (except non-office hours and national holidays) during the period between July 1 and July 31, the show features the Chinese white dolphins, which will guide our kids to understand the "developments, cultures and the future" of Taichung City and encourage them to care for the land where they are living. On the site, coloring paper and pencils are offered to kids, so that they can color the sketches with any color they wish. In addition, the first 10 visitors to reach the exhibition hall at 8:00 a.m. every morning will be given a "kid song” CD as a gift (one for each person), which is available in limited quantities while supplies last.

"My Home Town Taichung" guides kids to navigate Taichung
The first Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) route in Taiwan is scheduled for trial run between Donghai University and Providence University at the year end. Taichung City Government held the "I love Taichung BRT” event at National Museum of Natural Science to exhibit the double-carriage BRT vehicles, the bus station model and equipment. Meanwhile, the opening ceremony for "My Home Town Taichung" exhibition was also presided over by Deputy Mayor Tsai Bing-Kun (蔡炳坤) on July 3 at the1st floor atrium, Wenxin Building, Taichung New City Hall located on Taiwan Boulevard. Tsai said, “All the exhibit items at the scene were showcased in the Children's Arts Festival held at the Wenxin Forest Park in April this year. As the miniatures were so well received, we move them into Taichung New City Hall for a one-month exhibition. I hope more of our citizens can also enjoy those special features of Taichung, such as Taichung Metropolitan Opera House, the Taiwan Tower, the Bus Rapid Transit, the Rainbow Art Park, the Mazu Pilgrimage culture, the Taichung Park, the Houli Horse Ranch, the Gaomei Wetlands, the Taichung Suncake, the Shi Zi Zhou Park, and the Low-carbon City concept.” Deputy Mayor Tsai not only described to the kids participating in the press conference the special features of those exhibit items but also interacted lively with the kids while appreciating their paintings.

Co-hosted by nine bureaus of Taichung City Government, "My Home Town Taichung" features cute-versioned white dolphins, which lead our children to navigate the "developments, cultures and the future" of Taichung. It is hoped that the miniatures can tell you the overall situations and visions of Taichung. Everyone is welcome to learn more about Taichung and love Taichung.
