In order to strengthen the effectiveness of rat control, Environmental Protection Bureau of Taichung City Government is conducting deratization in farmland in cooperation with agricultural authority; the work is scheduled on the week of November 4th to 10th while household deratization is simultaneously carried out.
　　The Bureau will provide raticide of 10 pieces of baits in a pack; citizens can place 2~3 pieces in the areas where rats frequently passing by for effective result. Be cautious to place the baits beyond reach of children.
　　The baits are available in all borough offices since October 28th for the citizens in need. The Bureau expressed that placing large amount of raticide could lead to environmental pollution and endanger other poultry or livestock; therefore, only those people who have urging demand are encouraged to get the baits. To effectively exterminate the rats, indoors and outdoors home rectification must be conducted. The three main principles are “No Exit for Rat”, “No Food for Rat”, and “No Home for Rat”. Citizens can also place sticky rat board, trap and need to be aware to put these in safe and hidden place to avoid reach of children and pets.
