From December 9 to December 24, the Social Affairs Bureau of Taichung City Government has been holding “Rain Man” exhibition at the first-floor Atrium of Wenxin Building of Taichung City Hall located on Taiwan Boulevard. This joint exhibition showcases the works created by the disabled from Taichung City and Taipei City. Also exhibited are the processes of how they have created their works and the support that they have been receiving from their parents and teachers. It is hoped that through their works, the general public can have a better understanding of people with disabilities and the importance of early medical intervention and teaching students in accordance with their aptitude. Everyone is sincerely invited to appreciate their works.

This exhibition is open to the public from 9:00 to 17:00 every day except Saturdays and Sundays. The exhibitors use their works to prove that they are as creative and brilliant as normal individuals if they are guided under correct educational approaches and given a little more time and they can try harder, said the Social Affairs Bureau. Therefore, do not confine them to only self-care training. Instead, help them to develop their creativity, so that they can make colorful cultural and creative products to support themselves and even their families.

Social Affairs Bureau also expressed thanks to the parents of "Fat Cat Group", who are so open-minded to expose all the case information of their star children (i.e. children with disabilities). In fact, they are proud of their children and do not want to hide their names.

There is an interactive zone at the venue for you to take pictures with “Fat Cat” dolls or to hang “Rain Man” dolls on the wishing tree to cheer up and encourage all of the children with disabilities.
