第25屆全國兒童聯想創作畫比賽
Taichung City Huludun Cultural Center sponsors the “National Children’s Associative Painting Contest.” It has been the 25th year of this event. Different from the prizes and awards presented in the past, prize money will be given in this year, with the total of more the NT$ 220 thousand. Submission starts today until October 13, welcome all elementary school students interested in paintings to participate in this contest.

Lin Zhang-yuan, the Director, Huludun Cultural Center said in the past 25 years, there were more than 2 million of paintings that had entered the contest. In this year, there will be two categories: the painting category for elementary school students from grade 1 to grade 6 and the digital painting category for children from grade 5 to grade 6. Different from the past, it is the first time to present money instead of gifts as prizes. It is hoped that children that love painting from different corners of Taiwan can take this opportunity to participate.

According to the regulations of this year’s contest, there will be 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, and 3 third prizes, and 6 merit awards for the painting category. They will be awarded with the prizes of NT$ 5000, 4000, 3000, and 2000 respectively together will a certificate for each winner. Regarding the digital painting category, 10 outstanding paintings will be selected from each grade. Each of them will be awarded NT$1000 and a certificate. The 72 selected paintings will be exhibited at Huludun Cultural Center from November 14 to December 3. The semi-final and the award presentation ceremony will be held on December 3.

Huludun Cultural Center pointed out that the graphics in this year’s painting category, the created graphics broke away from the concept of close graphic. Participants began to create with open lines. With interlocking lines and curves, children are motivated to associate and develop their creativity with the implications of infinite extension of the future. As to the digital painting category, the past works did not only integrate creative painting but also software painting and graphic as the elements of creation. It is obvious that children’s creativity is infinite.

Lin Zhang-yuan expressed that the “National Children Associative Painting Contest” can be regarded as the indicator of children’s arts and painting contest. The themes for creation are very much different with regular arts contests. Children demonstrate unfathomable capacity in creativity. It is expected with this contest the seeds of arts will sprout and flourish in the hearts of these little artists. As a result, they can create more and better paintings.
