The Disabled Visited Taichung International Flower Carpet Festival by Rehabus

As Taichung International Flower Carpet Festival is about to end on January 7, Social Affairs Bureau, Taichung City Government took 32 disabled people and dependents by Rehabus to the Festival today (January 5). Director Lue, Jen-Der was also present and gave locally grown lily to them. Participants thanked the government for encouraging them to go outdoors and appreciate flowers at ease.

Social Affairs Bureau, Taichung City Government organized an accessible trip to the Festival today. Director Lue said that the government organized five accessible trips to Gaomei Wetland, Dongshih Forest Garden, Dongshih Fisherman's Wharf, Lanyang Museum, and Houli Flora Exposition using the earnings of Taiwan Lottery last year. A total of 234 disabled people and dependents participated in these trips. The government will continue to organize the accessible trips in the future.

Director Lue also thanked Taiwan Community Care Association for working with hospitals to provide care along the trips.

Chen, Hua-Kuo with spinal cord injury and Lee Yen with visual impairment thanked the government for organizing the trip where the disabled were able to go outdoors at ease.

According to Social Affairs Bureau, in addition to reservations for Rehabus, a shuttle bus is available at the parking lot in Central Taiwan Science Park per hour or based on the reservations by phone. Visitors outside Taichung may also take Rehabus at the parking lot in Central Taiwan Science Park.
