Taichung City Deputy Mayor Mr. Hsiao Jia Qi was present at the 119 Extended Fire Prevention Promotional Activity- Disaster Prevention Carnival on January 21st, an activity organized by the Taichung City Fire Department. During this activity, Taichung citizens are reminded to be always on the alert for fire hazards. It is hoped that a "disaster-free" living environment can be created, and that everyone would be able to enjoy a peaceful and happy Chinese New Year.

With the high number of fire disasters across the country in recent days, the Taichung City Fire Department wished to effectively promote fire prevention education, so that disasters can be prevented, and citizens' awareness in these matters would be elevated. In the afternoon of January 21st, the 119 Extended Fire Prevention Promotional Activity- Disaster Prevention Carnival was held at the outdoor plaza of the National Museum of Natural Science. Through various fire prevention lessons and actual observations and experiences, it was hoped that disaster prevention awareness would be raised, and that more attention would be paid to fire hazards and safety so that loss of life and property can be avoided.
