National Police Agency published the results of 2013 "Quality of Traffic Accident Management Assessment Scheme" at the end of August, 2014. As the assessment items included time of arrival, professional competence, service, innovation, and public satisfaction level, Taichung City Police Department was rated as the best unit in our country. Taichung City Police Department has won the first place in the assessment for two consecutive years in both 2012 and 2013.

Since Wu Qi-rui (吳啟瑞), Commander of Traffic Police Corps, Taichung City Police Department, took office in September 2012, he has emphasized the quality of traffic accident management and constantly noted that traffic accidents were life-and-death issues which should be managed with care and in empathy, thus, police must treat every traffic accident case as their own business. Commander Wu has taken every opportunity to reiterate such notion and the traffic police in our department have done their best and vowed to provide our citizens with quality services to safeguard their rights.

In March, 2013, the Control Yuan pinpointed some inadequate treatment on traffic accident investigation and management and also instructed relevant units to amend. As a result, the Traffic Police Corps of Taichung contacted the major investigation centers in Taiwan, the Automobile Research and Testing Center (ARTC) and every investigation associations to establish a learning platform for traffic accident management. We are the first unit that have launched 8 sessions and trained 389 people on investigating and examining traffic accidents and reconstructing traffic scenes. Those who completed the training program and passed the qualification exam were granted a certificate from National Police Agency. We were also the initiator to apply a few innovative approaches to upgrade the quality of traffic accident management.
