Recently, East Asian Olympic Committee (EAOC) temporarily canceled the right of Taichung to host 2019 East Asian Youth Games, which has drawn attention of all circles. Before hosting the municipal meeting today (30th), Mayor Lin said in receiving media access, the deprivation of Taichung's right to host sports events of Olympic system had affected the participating rights of more than 2 thousand young players. This morning, with the identity of the senior officer of the hosting city and the chairman of preparatory committee for 2019 East Asian Youth Games, he had officially presented the application for restoration to EAOC, and sent letters to the representatives of the 9 member countries and regions synchronously. He would held the international press conference this afternoon. As the host city, Taichung would try to seek for all kinds of chances. Hoping that under the social support of Taiwan and the international assistance, the whole event would be rationally discussed and remedied.

Mayor Lin said, this morning, in the identity of the senior officer of the hosting city and the chairman of preparatory committee for 2019 East Asian Youth Games, he had officially presented the application for restoration to EAOC, and sent letters to the representatives of the 9 member countries and regions synchronously, to call on the people to unite and to support the governmental decision, and to be the supporter for Taiwan young players and all players of the member countries and regions.
The municipal government would work hard to make the entitlements for everyone. There would an international press conference this afternoon to explain the whole event to the world.

He also explained that the content of the application mainly described the invasion on Taichung's rights from the actual and procedure perspective. The lack of information before the special meeting, the absence in the meeting and the lack of reasons in the decision after the meeting are all evidences for the municipal government to present the application.

Recently, the municipal government has been closely contacted and had the meeting with the Sport Department and Chung-hua Olympic Committee, and taken the rights actions. Being as the host city, and the chairman in preparatory committee of the East Asian Youth Games, the municipal government is the best representative to present the application. The Chung-hua Olympic Committee would also present the application following its method.

He stressed, EAOC had terminated the host right of Taichung only by a letter. Based on the regulations in the Contract with EAOC, the dispute should be negotiated in harmony. However, there was not any negotiation with the government. Besides, the experts in international laws had provided the detail analysis and suggestions for international arbitration. The government would actively have the communication with other countries. The host city, Taichung, would try to seek for all kinds of chances, hoping that the event would be rationally discussed and remedied in Taiwan social support and international assistance.
