Just before Chinese Valentine’s Day, supported by Taiwan Lottery, Taichung City Government invited Lin Jin-shan, the director of PKF, to give a personal take on the topic of “He For She” Singles’ Meet-up on August 11. The event talked about equal sex and shared many positive experiences from male’s respect. Deputy Director of Social Affairs Chen Zhong-liang expects to wake up the public from gender stereo type and create a gender friendly society with both female and male.

Before marriage, male must participate in house chores more frequently, says Chen, to erase the stereo type of gender and the responsibility of home care. Fathers should be involved in child’s growth so as to facilitate equal gender society.

With upcoming Chinese Valentine’s Day, Chen encourages men to live up “He For She” and create a community of equality.

Lin Jin-shan, the director of PKF, talked about his own love story. Wrote more than five hundred love letters, Lin appreciated his wife for her ambition of self-pursuit. After marriage, she continued her study while developing her own business, with his supports all the way. Now she is gender equality expert who shone 35 years ago talking about her ambition. Lin is and always will be proud of her.

Wu Yi-ying, 31 years old of Company Commander of army, met his wife on a singles’ meet-up by Taichung City Government. About a year ago, to take good care of their child, the wife took one year unpaid leave. As the day of going back to work approaching, he decided to take one year unpaid leave, same as his wife; moved to Taichung, he began his full time father career, sharing off the responsibility of child care. He appreciated unconditional support from the army on the childcare leave.
