The 0.6 hectare Bishop Wood Park (Qiedong Park) locating at West District, Taichung City, has a thousand-year old Bishop Wood of 20m height and 1,500sqm canopy. The oldest, largest Bishop Wood in plain area in Taiwan is honored “Treasure of Taichung.”
“King Bishop Wood Cultural Ecology Park” integrates the park and playgrounds nearby to create a large meadow of sunlight with easy-access permeable pavement. Along the path the trees and bushes circled a green space to allow public access. A lotus pond of natural boundary relives the spring of old times; history and description of the tree are displayed along hallway introducing the growth of the King Bishop Wood and the story of saving it. The Park shall serve as another natural attraction in the city that preserves the history and ecology, recreating “the City of Culture”.
