Many elements are involved in the land administration matters, which are not only closely related to the property rights and interests of the public but also serve as an important basis for municipal construction.

In the early days, the Land Administration Bureau of Taichung City Government was only involved in the promotion of land reform policy, including “Farm Rental Reduction to 37.5%”, “Sale of Public Lands”, "Land to the Tiller", and land price regulations. Not until 1978, when this Bureau implemented a large-scale land readjustment program, resulting in the release of 1,078 hectares of building land and the free access of 652 hectares of land for public facilities, saving the City Government construction costs amounting to NT$ 63.6 billion, did this Bureau win a great name in contributing to the development of Taichung City. To adapt to the ever changing environment and to meet the needs of our citizens, this Bureau has since transformed itself and moved into a new era.

To promote municipalities, establish a cadastral network, implement equalization of land rights, improve real estate transactions, acquire land lots for public facilities, develop the city by zone expropriation and land readjustment, establish real estate licensing system, and set up the global positioning satellite surveying system, this Bureau is committed to follow the mayor's policy ideas to obtain superficies on those land lots used to offset tax payments and lead the development in the readjustment areas. We will also uphold “people first” to enhance our service quality and performance, so as to achieve the goal of "provision of top services, e-land information, global positioning satellite communication, and development and construction of Taichung".
