The construction of facilities and exhibition halls of Taichung World Flora Exposition’s Waipu Park Area has been completed, and currently the plant organization and decoration is undergoing in the park area. Taichung City Government’s Water Resource Bureau Facebook fan page released the light testing photos at the park area recently. The park area, from dusk till dark, shows the refreshing look of the hometown of flora and fruit, which attracts many online followers exclaiming, “Beautiful!” and “Let’s visit Taichung World Flora Exposition. It looks so great!” Taichung City Government said that “Starlight Ticket” will be available during the World Flora Exposition and is for visitors who are admitted after 4 p.m. of the day when tickets are purchased. Everyone is welcome to visit the park area to experience its beauty at the different time.

According to Taichung City Government’s Water Resource Bureau, the design concept of Waipu Park Area is based on agriculture, and a “Leo Farm House” is built. The construction of the facilities and exhibition halls has been completed at the end of July with the overall area being 16 hectares that include four highlighted themes – Flora, Agriculture, Bamboo, and Water. Five major areas are created to show the rich ecological resources and images. After the World Flora Exposition, many facilities will be reserved and further developed by combining the peripheral ecological agriculture to create a smart and innovative agricultural area in Central Taiwan.

Particularly, two buildings, Intelligent Agriculture Hall and Fun Agricultural Hall, are permanent exhibition halls. The exhibition in Intelligent Agriculture Hall is created through the cooperation of h Taiwan’s top agricultural researchers and Dr. Cecilia Koo Botanic Conservation Center (KBCC) with the purpose of showcasing the latest agricultural technology and the newest agricultural varieties as well as promoting the importance of the conservation of the endangered plants. The exhibition concept of Fun Agriculture Hall is based on “Fun with Agriculture Starts with A Lot and Thousands of Acres of Lands.” In the spacious landscape exhibition hall, stories of lands, crops, and farmers are presented with the agriculture, life, and humanity as the core.

Recently, Taichung City Government’s Water Resource Bureau posted a series of photos that present the look of the park area from dusk to dark, including the scenes at Fun Agriculture Hall, Diner under Bamboo Tent, sewage treatment facilities, etc. on its Facebook fan page. With the lights decorating the night, the scenes look more appealing. Once the post was made, many netizens left messages saying, “So beautiful! The best work always comes from the Water Resource Bureau!” and “I am calling my friends from Tainan and Kaohsiung to visit Taichung World Flora Exposition. This looks so great!”

In addition, the post also gave advance notice on 2 interesting features in the park area. One of them is the water-dividing trail that looks like Moses parting the Red Sea. The other is the two big butterflies located in the north and south of the park area respectively with one at the entrance of the plaza and the other at the Hive Square. The butterflies’ tentacles pointing to the south and the north respectively, which means that Taichung’s Agriculture is heading to the international stage.

According to Taichung City Government, Taichung World Flora Exposition will open on November 3 this year. “Starlight Ticket” will be available at the box office on the site, and the price for one ticket is NTD$ 150. The starlight ticket is for visitors who are admitted after 4 p.m. on the day when the ticket is purchased. Everyone is welcome to experience the diverse look and beauty of the park area and listen to the sounds of blossoming.
