2018 Taichung World Flora Exposition will take place on November 3. Taichung City Government invited Taiwan’s well-known graphic designer, Mario Feng, to create commemorative tickets based on the theme of “Blooming Flowers and Animal Conservation.” With the branched hydrological texture to connect every ticket, the beautiful meaning of ecological conservation and prosperity are expressed through Taichung’s characteristic flowers and endangered animals. The commemorative tickets can be officially purchased through World Flora Exposition online ticketing website.

Taiwan’s well-known graphic designer, Mario Feng, is the co-founder and Creative Director of IF OFFICE, a design project company. He has 20 years of experiences in branding, has been Creative and Art Director for many popular design magazines, and teaches design related courses in colleges, universities, and cultural and creative academies. He had won many awards including DFA Design for Asia Awards, Red Dot Design Award, and Golden Pin Design Award, etc.

According to the Taichung City Government Information Bureau, the commemorative tickets for World Flora Exposition are designed by Mario Feng and include eight tickets in a set with the theme of “Blooming Flowers and Animal Conservation.” Three World Flora Exposition areas in Taichung, Houli, Waipu, and Fengyuan, are portrayed on the tickets like puzzles, and eight tickets are connected through branched hydrological texture. Putting the eight tickets together shows a beautiful picture, but each of the ticket also presents special meaning.

The tickets use beige as the background color with delicate pictures on it to portray characteristic flowers in Taichung including Taiwan Cherry, Dancing-Doll Orchid, and Lily as well as endangered animals, such as Leopard at and Formosan landlocked salmon. The portrayal of flowers and animals shows the look of Taichung’s Mother Nature that nurtures numerous species due to rivers running through Taichung area, which expresses the beautiful meaning of ecological conservation and prosperity.

The price of “Blooming Flowers and Animal Conservation” commemorative ticket set is NTD$ 1,688 with the average price of each ticket being NTD$ 211. The commemorative tickets serve to be a one-day pass for World Flora Exposition and can be used as an Easy Card. The ink for printing the tickets contains a unique orchid fragrance, and you can smell the orchid aroma when using the tickets. The commemorative tickets can be officially purchased on October 1 through the World Flora Exposition online ticketing website.
