2018 Taichung World Flora Expo is already opened and the exhibitions will be lasted for half year. According to the plan of city government, the exhibition venues of “post-Expo era” after the closing ceremony on April 24 next year will all be transferred to public space. Among them, the Flora Exhibition Hall such 6 major venues and Houli Greenway, Fenyuang Floral Corridor will be reserved for purposes of flora production and trade platform and agricultural creation park. There are also several temporary venues using green recycling materials will be transferred to different places for application.

As to the most eye-attracting biggest machine on earth “listing to the blooming of flower”, all circles care about if it will be reserved?
According to the spokesperson of Taichung Flora Expo Chen, Wen-Hsin, the cross-field design team and sponsor unit have decided to donate the device to city government. The device is expected to be reserved and become new landmark of Taichung in the future. The maintenance and exhibition plan will be provided after completing the procedures and discussing with donor.

Chen, Wen-Hsin indicated that the city government had determined to reserve permanent exhibition halls for public construction to benefit local, including the historical buildings in Houli Horse Ranch will become Horse Ranch Cultural Park; the new equestrian stadium is satisfactory to international standards with seats for more than thousand audiences. It will be the “national equestrian sport training center” in the future, allowing Houli become the leader of equestrian sport.

As to the “Blossom Pavilion” always line in queen, Chen, Wen-Hsin said the venue is mainly for floriculture competition and exhibition during the flora expo area. It will be planned as flora trade exhibition platform in central area at post-flora export era. 2020 “World Orchid Meeting” will be held here, the strength of orchid industry in Taiwan will be showcased to the world as well as to vitalize industrial development then.

Chen, Wen-Hsin indicated that Waipu Park will be transformed to an international agricultural park in the future. Harvest Blessings Pavilion will cooperate with academic units and private businesses to establish young farmer training center as the foundation for editable farming education. Meanwhile, Agri-Tech and Conservation Pavilion will have agriculture production technology center be established allowing young farmers and farmer friends in Taichung to enhance production and sales efficiency through technology equipment and on field planting experimental teaching to lead the regional tourism and economic development. Taiwan Pastries Pavilion in Fengyuan Huludun Park will become a pastry hometown museum with product display, tour guide and tourism functions incorporated with technology and pastry culture.

According to Chen, Wen-Hsin, the white “Greenway” connected with Houli Train Station will be linked with Houfeng cycling trail and become a spotlight of tourist recreation indicator. Huludun Park has the longest floral corridor in Taiwan to continuously promote water sports and become a recreational space for local residences.

In order to return land to forest, some temporary venues will be reserved in different places. Chen, Wen-Hsin said that more than 1,500 trees in the Forest Park will be conserved. The temporary venues were built by recyclable green construction materials and the materials will be recycled for the use of exhibition halls in the future. The park area will be included in “expanded Houli urban plan” as foundation for long-term local development.

As to the transportation, in addition to construct new Houli Eastern Station, the city government will also open several flora expo connected roads, including “extension of National Highway No. 4 Shengang Interchange to Houli Chiahou Road” about 4.4km connecting important roads on both sides of Dachia River. It will allow Shengang, Houli, Waipu, Dachia such circles be more intimate. “Central Science Park Southern Bound Three-in-One Access Road” is opened to traffic connecting Fengyuan sub-city center, which not only solve the traffic problems during the flora expo period, but also establish a complete traffic network leading local prosperities.
