Taichung City Government has been carrying out plans to upgrade and improve the conditions of pedestrian walkways around school areas to make it safer for school children. During this second phase of the plan, citizens are invited to vote online for the section of road that most requires improvement. Between May 22 and June 22, everyone is welcomed to vote online at the Taichung City Government website at http://www.tccg.gov.tw. The city government will begin with upgrading the road section that received the most number of votes. Any illegal building structures or objects, which obstruct pedestrian walkways will be removed. It is hoped that pedestrian walkway systems will be greatly improved as a result of this.

Since carrying out the first phase of pedestrian walkway improvement, road sections of school district 24 has seen great changes and these received the affirmation from members of the public. This second phase of improvement will be focused on important road sections selected by citizens via online voting.
