Mayor Lin Jia Lung of Taichung announced that no fireworks will be displayed for the New Year Party held by Taichung City Government. The Information Bureau of Taichung City Government purchases the snowflake machine from overseas to project the snowflakes and flowers during count down. It also provides AR display and releases aroma to create a romantic atmosphere to replace the traditional fireworks. Two New Year Parties are also held this year at the track field of National Taiwan University of Sport and the second parking lot at Lihpao Land. Skilled singers and idols will sing at the Parties and welcome 2018 with the audience.

The Information Bureau held a press conference to promote the Parties on 22nd. Mayor Lin Jia Lung attended this conference and accompanied by Zhuo Guan Ting, the Chief of Information Bureau and Zhang Zhi Xiang, the Chief of Department of Land Administration. Councilors of Taichung City Council Qiu Su Zhen and Cai Ya Ling sent representatives of their Service Offices to attend the press conference and express their gratitude. Tien Hsin and Ken Lin, hosts of these two Parties introduced the cast of the Parties. Prince Chiu sang his song “Fell in Love with You” in this conference. “Omima”, one of the mascots of 2018 Taichung World Flora Exposition, attended this conference. In conclusion, it was an exciting press conference.

Mayor Lin indicated that Taichung is the only city in Taiwan holding two New Year Parties. These Parties have a great cast and combines the flower display, light show and snowflake show. For the Party that will be held at the second parking lot of Lihpao Land, a Ferris wheel will demonstrate a creative design during the Party. Taichung will welcome the “Year of Flower Expo” after countdown and these Parties are quite meaningful to the Flower Expo. Mayor Link thanks lots of artists whose hometown is Taichung to return home to perform in the Party. He also appreciates sponsors for participation.

Mayor Lin pointed out that people can show appreciation for having a peaceful, fruitful year and make New Year wishes during countdown. Taichung City Government, National Taichung Theater and National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra hold the “2018 New Year's Concert”. He welcomes everyone to attend the Concert, the first New Year concert in Taichung, after attending the New Year Party. He hopes that the New Year concert will become a tradition of Taichung.

Chief Zhuo of Information Bureau, stated that no fireworks will be displayed in this year’s New Year Party because Taichung advocates environmental protection and sustainability, which are ideas promoted in 2018 Flower Expo. Instead of fireworks, the snowflake and light shows will be displayed and integrated with the flower design. The audience of the Party will enjoy a sensational show. He is glad that many other cities in Taiwan also decide not to release fireworks and contribute to environmental protection in Taiwan.

Chief Zhuo pointed out that a wonderful cast will join the Party. David Tao, Nine One One, Xiao Yu, Prince Chiu, GTM and Lin Yu Chun will only be singing in Taichung New Year Party. Amber An will bring an opening show and sing several songs in this show. Nick Chou will bring an ending show in the Party. Sam Tseng and Tien Hsin will host the Party holding at the track field of National Taiwan University of Sport. Nine One One will be the first one on stage, David Tao will count down the New Year with the audience of this Party and Nick Chou will perform the ending show. Princess Ai, Eric Chou, Alan Ko, Janice Yan, Where Chou, waa wei, Cosmospeople, Erika and A-team will also sing in this Party and countdown with the audience.

Ken Lin and Sandy, who hosted the Golden Bell Award together, will host together again in the Patty at the second parking lot of Lihpao Land in Houli. Amber An will bring an opening show. The cast includes ANNA, GTM, BOXING, Lin Yu Pin, Cindy Yen, Ian Chen, Lin Yu Chun and 831. Della and Prince Chiu will countdown with the audience. Nine One One and 831 will perform the ending show together. This New Year Party has the most singers out of other Parties in Taiwan.

Tien Hsin, Ken Lin and Prince Chiu are all happy about celebrating the New Year in Taichung. Tien Hsin was born in Taichung. Ken Lin has hosted several New Year Parties in Taichung in a row. Prince Chiu said that he used to go to school in Taichung and he will sing many songs for the audience to welcome 2018.

Nine One One will be singing at the track field of National Taiwan University of Sport and Amber An will be singing at the second parking lot of Lihpao Land in Houli. Amber An and the members of Nine Nine One are all from Taichung. David Tao, Nine One One, Xiao Yu, Prince Chiu, GTM and Lin Yu Chun will only sing in the New Year Parties in Taichung. Alan Ko acted in the movie Din Tao: Leader of the Parade and that was how he became attached to Taichung. In conclusion, this cast has a strong tie with Taichung.

At the second parking lot of Lihpao Land and “Sky Dream”, Asia’s best Ferris wheel, the AR technology will be used to perform a 150-second light show. Beautiful flower images will be projected and exclusive aroma will be released to create the one-and-only “Aroma Snow Flake Show” in Taiwan. While snowflakes fall in the track field of National Taiwan University of Sport during the light show, flowers boom everywhere to correspond to the Flower Expo. This show conveys the message that the Flower Expo will be held next year in Taichung.

The traffic control will be carried out for the locations of the events. To avoid the traffic jam, five shuttle routes are available for the Party in Houli. A total of 360 shuttle buses travel between Fengyuan Railway Station, Houli Primary School, the parking lot of AU Optronics Corp. at Central Taiwan Science Park, Qiuhong Valley (intersection of Shizheng N. 7th Rd.) and TRA Xin Wuri Station to the second parking lot of Lihpao Land. More TRA trains will be available for people who wish to attend these Parties. Some sections of city bus routes will change and the operating hours of services will be extended to encourage people to take the public transportation.

The information of “Starry Night for Welcoming the Flower Expo – 2018 New Year’s Party in Taichung” is available on the event website (http://www.2018taichunghappynewyear.com.tw/). Broadcasts will be available at the intersection of Shuangxi Rd. and Yucai N. Rd. and the Taichung City Hall Square at Taiwan Boulevard. These two Parties will be live broadcasted on Azio TV, TTV, SET TV, CTV, radio stations and online channels.
