The Taichung Convention and Exhibition Center, planned for the Taichung Gateway Park, will not only be used for exhibitions but will also serve as a world-class convention center. The extensive tourism resources of Taichung City as well as the air and sea transport links will help attract international conventions, exhibitions and incentive tourism to Taichung City.

Taichung City itself possesses tremendous soft power as well as a pleasant climate, convenient transportation and wide variety of tourism resources. The city became a member of the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) this year and has secured the hosting rights to a number of international conferences, exhibitions and large-scale events so far such as the 2017 annual meeting of the Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC), the 2018 International Flora Exposition, and the 2019 East Asian Youth Games. Every effort is being made to develop the convention & exhibition industry through active international participation.
