“Guguan Fire Station” will be installed at Heping Guguan Area under Taichung City Fire Department. April 15, Firefighting team, vehicles and equipment are ready to standby for case report starting 18, April. The Station will be unveiled in June. Fire Dept. Director Xiao Huan-Zhang explained that the current closest station, Heping Station, is 17 km away from Guguan. A 20 to 30-minute traffic time indicates an inefficient rescue power. The setup of Guguan Station shall enhance local rescue ability and people’s safety.

As per Director Xiao, there are 10,824 population in Heping District, with 17.88%, around 1,936 in Guguan. The hot spring hotels, restaurants, shops, and the climbers’ favorite “The Seven Heroes Guguan” in Guguan record most cases of traffic and climbers’ accidents. Heping station, being the nearest fire station, is yet 17 km, up to half an hour away. To better future rescue power, the city government is authorizing under representatives’ support Guguan Fire Station to serve the area.

As per the Fire Department, 13 firefighters will be installed in Guguan station, with two water tank fire-fighting trucks, one ambulance, one logistic truck, and the assistance from volunteer firefighter mountain search and rescue team. To further protect the people, in the future a mountain rescue training place will be lodged to elevate mountain search and rescue power for extensive rescue capability.
