A donation ceremony was held on August 24. Mr. Chan Ren-chie, captain of the Third Corps, received the donation and presented a certificate of appreciation on behalf of Fire Bureau. He thanked Councilor Wu and the enthusiastic donor for their generous donation, aimed at improving the effectiveness of the firefighting units and ensuring the safety of firefighters in carrying out their duties. Captain Chan said that the donor learned from Councilor Wu that the Fire Bureau is in need for disaster relief equipment, and they donated a batch of fire department disaster relief equipment to enhance the firefighting units’ effectiveness. The kind anonymous donor would like to keep a low profile and turned down any form of appreciation. It is this type of kindness that needs to be praise, so that the public understand the spirit of dedication to the public interest, and then encourage the public for charity and to do more good deeds. The Fire Bureau pointed out that Councilor Wu assisted in obtaining many disaster relief devices, including 10 "respirator masks", 10 "SCBAs", a "generator", 2 "nozzles", 1 "mobile pump", and 4 water distributors, 2 electricity-proof cutters and a Halligan and axe. These devices are for fire rescue and car accident rescue and very helpful for supplementing and improving the necessary equipment for disaster relief of the team. Their charitable deeds will improve the effectiveness of disaster relief and rescue, thereby ensuring the safety of citizens' lives and property. Wuri District Mayor Lin Chongyi and Village Chief Chen Hsin-an were in attendance. Deputy Speaker Yan Limin of City Council and former legislator Yan Kuanheng also sent representatives to attend the event.
