The Rotary Club of Taichung South Gate donated two sets of 12-lead electrocardiogram. The Taichung City Government Fire Bureau expressed gratitude for its enthusiasm for public welfare.

Considering that heart disease ranks second among the top 10 causes of death among our people, the President of the Rotary Club of Taichung South Gate, Ci-Bin Chuang, called on members to jointly donate two sets of 12-lead electrocardiogram from the Fire Bureau of the Taichung City Government to replace old rescue equipment with new one. The fire bureau held the donation ceremony on October 12th. According to the fire bureau, they will provide the 12-lead electrocardiogram to the Nantun and Liming branches of the Fire Bureau's sixth disaster relief and rescue brigade. They thank the Rotary Club of Taichung South Gate for their practical support to the firefighters. The fire bureau indicated that the government has limited resources but unlimited civilian power. Under the limited national budget, the Rotary Club of Taichung South Gate will give back love to society and benefit citizens, serving as a public welfare model. The fire bureau hopes that businesses, general welfare organizations, and compassionate individuals from all walks of life will join this noble initiative, collectively enhancing our rescue capabilities and safeguarding the lives and property of our people.
For 29 years, members of the Rotary Club of Taichung South Gate have been dedicated to making a positive impact on the world their social services efforts. Their guiding principle, "The more you serve, the greater your benefits will be," instills a sense of accomplishment and pride among all club members. The fire bureau mentioned that Taichung City ranks first in the central region and has the second-largest population in Taiwan. According to statistics, the number of ambulance cases in Taichung City from January to August this year totaled 108,165, of which the main ones were chest pain. When people feel chest pain or tightness, there is a chance of heart disease. Critical cases such as myocardial infarction or aortic dissection require timely medical treatment. The 12-lead electrocardiogram donated this time can monitor the patient's electrocardiogram waveform with 12 leads, and they can use the electrocardiogram immediately to interpret by first-line ambulance personnel or online medical guidance doctors to diagnose heart diseases such as myocardial infarction or arrhythmia promptly. Besides, by cooperating with the fire bureau's instant notification system to notify the emergency department of the evacuation hospital to carry out first aid and pre-cardiac catheterization preparations in advance, medical staff can speed up pre-hospital diagnosis and shorten the discovery time to treatment. This model has 12 leads in one piece, making it easier for the team colleagues to interpret and improve rescue timeliness and success rate for heart disease patients.
