Taichung’s Fire Bureau introduces technology to enhance emergency dispatch capabilities

In preparation for the flood season and emergency dispatch, the Taichung City Government’s Fire Bureau has invested NT$ 6.1 million to set up a large, multifunctional video wall for real-time disaster monitoring across the city. According to the Fire Bureau, the video wall at the 119 Dispatch Center was upgraded this year with the latest transmission and display technology. This upgrade enables 119 personnel to monitor live incidents, rescue vehicle status, 119 service effectiveness, and city-wide news footage all at once, ensuring precise and efficient dispatch.
The Fire Bureau noted that the video wall is integrated with 4G real-time video transmission equipment, allowing on-site live rescue footage from personnel going indoors to be transmitted simultaneously. This ensures that front-line rescue operations are seamlessly broadcast, enabling commanders at all levels to monitor disaster status in real-time. The 4G video transmission provides clearer images, and the video wall's intuitive visual design helps commanders better understand real-time disaster status and rescue capabilities. Director Sun Fu-Yu of the Fire Bureau noted that the complete upgrade of the video wall has made Taichung’s 119 command and dispatch system more complete. He hopes that this new high-tech response system will further improve the efficiency of rescue operations, providing strong protection for the safety of citizens.
