Fengyuan Wenwu Lions Club Donates Mobile Pumps and Disaster Response Gear; Taichung’s Fire Bureau Expresses Gratitude for Enhanced Disaster Response Capabilities

The Fengyuan Wenwu Lions Club’s 22nd president, Tsai Mao-chang, donated disaster response gear—such as mobile pumps, dual-canister half-mask respirators, rescue gloves, explosion-proof headlamps, and rescue masks—to the Fengnan Branch of the First Corps, Fire Bureau, Taichung City Government. On October 25, the Fire Bureau held a ceremony at the Fengnan Branch to thank the Lions Club for strengthening its emergency response resources.
Fire Bureau Director Sun Fu-yu thanked the Fengyuan Wenwu Lions Club for its commitment to public welfare and longstanding support for Taichung City's firefighting and disaster relief initiatives, which have made the Fire Bureau’s equipment more comprehensive. He expressed hope that this generosity would encourage other businesses and organizations to join in, channeling more resources into firefighting and rescue efforts. Together, we can create a safer, more secure, and higher-quality environment for everyone.
Captain Wu Chang-ming of the First Corps, Fire Bureau noted that the Fengyuan area’s narrow alleys and many small factories pose challenges for fire trucks, which often struggle to access these sites. Moreover, due to limited water sources, there is a pressing need for mobile pumps to draw water from rivers, thereby boosting firefighting capabilities. Captain Wu noted that the Fengyuan Wenwu Lions Club’s donation of disaster response gear—such as rescue gloves and explosion-proof headlamps—is vital for handling various emergencies in the area, effectively enhancing rescue capabilities and disaster preparedness.
The donation ceremony was attended by representatives invited by the Fire Bureau of the Taichung City Government, including special assistant Lo from the Service Center of Legislative Yuan Vice President Chiang, City Council member Chang Ching-fen, special assistant Ke from the Service Center of City Council member Chen Ching-long, assistant Wang from the Service Center of City Council member Chiu Ai-shan, and Municipal Advisors Wang Kun-tang and Liao Shu-chung.
