Technology Empowers Firefighting Heroes: Lin Bo-Ru Donates Firefighter Positioning System and Rescue Vehicle to Taichung City Government

Jin Yong Fu Construction has shown ongoing support for local community affairs, with General Manager Lin Bo-Ru backing emergency services through concrete contributions. On April 24, the company donated a rescue vehicle and a high-tech firefighter positioning and sensing system to enhance frontline firefighters’ rescue efficiency and safety during disaster response. On behalf of the Taichung City Government’s Fire Bureau, Chief Secretary Lin Rui-Zhang received the donation during the donation ceremony. He expressed hope that this act will encourage similar support from others to safeguard public safety and property.
According to the Fire Bureau, the newly donated rescue vehicle, a professionally modified Kia K2500, is tailored for rugged and narrow terrains such as those found in the Dadu Mountain area. Outfitted with a 1,000-liter water tank, a compact mobile pump, and high-pressure extension hoses, the vehicle offers enhanced maneuverability and greatly improves access to mountainous or confined alleyway environments. Meanwhile, the firefighter positioning and sensing system also brings a new level of safety to rescue missions, combining real-time positioning, anomaly alerts, and command functions in one high-tech solution.
The Fire Bureau highlighted three key functions of the firefighter positioning and sensing system. First, it enables real-time tracking—each firefighter entering the disaster site wears a positioning device, allowing the command center to monitor their relative positions and movement paths in real time, even in low-visibility or chaotic conditions. Second, it features anomaly alerts—if a firefighter experiences an emergency, such as remaining still for an extended time or manually sends a distress signal, the system will trigger lights and alarms, notifies nearby team members wearing the same device, and flags the location on the command screen to maximize the critical rescue window. Third, it aids command decisions—the system assists commanders in adjusting their tactics based on team locations and fire conditions to improve overall response performance.
Chief Secretary Lin thanked General Manager Lin for his ongoing commitment to public affairs, noting that the donation not only addresses the need for frontline rescue vehicles but also introduces advanced rescue equipment, significantly enhancing Taichung City’s overall firefighting capabilities. In fast-changing emergency situations, traditional methods like verbal communication and radios often fall short in tracking team members. By implementing this system, the Fire Bureau can greatly improve rescue efficiency and better safeguard its personnel, making it a vital equipment for modern emergency response.
Wu Qiong-Hua, Chief of the Women’s Fire Prevention Advocacy Corps, thanked Mr. Lin Bo-Ru for his longstanding support of firefighting initiatives. She emphasized that the donated equipment will make a real difference in improving both the precision and safety of emergency response work. His kindness and contribution not only protect the people of Taichung but also greatly increase the safety of frontline firefighters during rescue operations.
