In light of the increasingly demanding emergency medical service operations in Taichung City, and to enhance emergency response capacity for the benefit of Taichung residents, Zhenkun Temple has donated a high-roof ambulance equipped with advanced medical equipment to the Renhua Branch of the Fire Bureau. This act not only demonstrates the religious organization’s concern for public safety but also provides a significant boost to the city’s emergency medical services. The donation ceremony took place on August 4, with Yang Pao-Yi, Chairman of Zhenkun Temple, presenting the vehicle on behalf of the temple, and Deputy Director Yang Yuan-Chi accepting the donation on behalf of the Fire Bureau.
The Fire Bureau explained that Zhenkun Temple, established in the 10th year of the Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty (1830), holds a long history and serves as a major center of faith in the Renhua area. Over the years, the temple has been deeply involved in local public welfare, cultural preservation, and social services, earning significant influence within the community. Upholding its guiding principles of compassion and saving lives, the temple has donated a brand-new ambulance along with a full set of emergency medical equipment to the Renhua Branch of the Fire Bureau. This contribution aims to enhance the quality and efficiency of Taichung’s emergency medical services and safeguard the lives and well-being of Taichung residents.
According to the Fire Bureau, the Renhua Branch is located within the Dali Industrial Zone, with its jurisdiction spanning both Dali and Taiping Districts—areas characterized by high population density and active industrial and commercial activity. It is also situated near major transportation arteries such as Provincial Highway No. 74 and Provincial Highway No. 3, resulting in a large volume of daily commuters. As a result, the demand for emergency medical services in this area is particularly high. This donation not only strengthens the emergency response capabilities of the Renhua Branch but also clearly demonstrates Zhenkun Temple’s strong commitment to and support for public safety and emergency medical services.
The donated ambulance features a high-roof design and is equipped with a range of advanced emergency medical devices, including a high-end physiological monitor, an automated cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) machine, and a power-load stretcher system. These devices provide a stable and efficient environment for emergency medical operations. Notably, the power-load system can automatically adjust the stretcher’s height and angle, reducing the physical strain on frontline personnel while ensuring patient safety and comfort during boarding and disembarkation. This greatly enhances both the safety of emergency procedures and the quality of patient care.
The Fire Bureau noted that while government resources are limited, the strength of community support is boundless. They expressed deep gratitude to Zhenkun Temple for its encouragement and recognition of firefighting efforts. It is hoped that this donation will serve as a catalyst to inspire more people to put resources toward emergency medical services, thereby enhancing the safety of emergency personnel during operations and strengthening Taichung City’s emergency medical network. This will provide significant benefits and protection for the safety of the city’s residents as well.
