Tourist Having Such a Great Time in the Yizhong Shopping District that She Forgets Where Her Car is Parked – Police Locates Her Car Using the Gourmet Map
The car owner and her friend thoroughly searched the nearby parking areas but their car was nowhere to be found. In desperation, they saw the police officer and after much brainstorming, the police eventually successfully located the exact location of the vehicle thanks to their knowledge of their precinct. At around 16:00 on May 11, 2019, police officer You-liang Tsai of the Second Precinct, Taichung City Policy Department spotted Ms. Wu and Ms. Huang walking around nervously at the intersection of Shuangshi Road and Jingwu Road. Upon questioning them, he realized that the women were friends coming to Taichung City for window shopping from Lugang Town, Changhua. However, they had so much fun in Yizhong Shopping District that they were turned around and completely forgot where the car was parked in the first place.
Police officer Tsai first consoled them and requested the assistance of squad cars to locate their vehicle. The police drove them around the nearby areas and asked them to think back on what they had eaten or drunk before determining where the car was parked precisely using their thorough knowledge of the precinct. Eventually, they discovered the car inside a parking lot near Yizhong Street and Yucai Street. The women were overcome with gratitude when their car was successfully recovered and kept on thanking Mazu for her blessings in bumping into the police officer on duty during their most desperate moment.
They expressed their admiration and gratitude to the police for their kindness and patience by presenting the police officer with the Baishatun Mazu figurine in appreciation of his dedication. The police urged the public to take a photo of the area in which their scooters/cars are parked when going out during the weekend, or make use of smartphone apps with GPS functionality in order to keep track of their vehicles and prevent the predicament of not being able to locate their vehicles. If you encounter a similar situation, please contact the local police or 110 for assistance.
