Traffic information for 2012 "Sea of Flowers in Xinshe"

1. Organized by the Seed Improvement and Propagation Station of Council of Agriculture, the 2012 "Sea of Flowers in Xinshe” events will be held between November 17 and December 16, 2012. Agriculture Bureau of Taichung City Government will join hands with Changhua County and Nantou County to promote both Sea of Flowers in Xinshe and Central Taiwan Agricultural Fair this year. As Sea of Flowers in Xinshe uses Matsu as the main theme, record-breaking crowds are expected to flock in from around the country to the Dongshan Road section of Taichung City, especially during holidays. The 5th Precinct of Taichung City Government Police Department urges the public to follow the traffic control measures, so as to save valuable travel time and avoid traffic jams.

2. During the event period, the 5th Precinct of Taichung City Government Police Department will implement traffic control and parking management from the Dongshan Road section to Xinshe on weekends and holidays. It is also urged that people make use of alternative roads, including the one from National Highway 4 to Shihgang District or to the Zhonghe Village of Taiping District and then to the Sea of Flowers in Xinshe. Free shuttle buses (medium-sized buses) will be provided on Saturdays and Sundays. You can find them on Jianhe Road of Beitun District (next to the Taiyuan Parking Lot ), where they will be dispatched very 20-30 minutes during 08:00-16:00. For the return trip from the Sea of Flowers in Xinshe, they will depart for Taichung very 20-30 minutes during 10:00-18:00. The free shuttle buses will start from Taiyuan Parking Lot at Jianhe Road of the Beitun District (near the Taihe 5th Street) and go through Jianhe Road, Jingxiang Road , Buzi Road, Zhongxing Lane, Dongshan Road to Sea of Flowers in Xinshe without any halfway stop. Buses making return trip from the Sea of Flowers in Xinshe will stop at the Daken traffic circle (Daken Bridge Station) to facilitate passengers to make transit to another city bus. Free shuttle buses will be adjusted to take alternative routes during the traffic jam-prone hours (approximately 9:00 to 14:00) on Saturdays and Sundays. The departure trip will go via Buziken, Tinliao and Qiedongliao of Taiping District, and then Xinshe District. For the return trip, buses will go from Sea of Flowers in Xinshe via Dongshan Road, Zhongxing Lane, Daken traffic circle (Daken Bridge Station where you can get off if you wish) and then Taiyuan Parking Lot.

3. In response to Beitun District the opening to traffic of Xiangshun West Road and Junfu 13th Road), the 5th Precinct has requested by mail the Transportation Bureau to change and add traffic signs for the surrounding roads. The police also makes a special appeal to the public to comply with traffic control measures, keep listening to the traffic reports on the police radio station, and divert to alternative routes as early as possible. If you find any traffic congestion on any sections of the surrounding roads, please call immediately the Duty Command Center of the 5th Precinct (Tel: 04-22427112), so that police can be dispatched to the scene to safeguard traffic safety for humans and vehicles.
