2019 National Disaster Preparedness Day – National Earthquake Network Drill

In order to enhance people's general knowledge on earthquake preparedness and to minimize damage caused by earthquakes, the government will be carrying out an earthquake drill (drop, cover, and hold on), thereby reinforcing the citizens' disaster response capability during an earthquake. The time and method of the drill, as well as relevant links are elaborated below:

One: Time of drill: 09:21 on September 20, 2019
Two: Method of drill: At 09:21 on September 20, 2019, the Central Weather Bureau, MOTC will issue a National Disaster Preparedness Day Earthquake Alert via the Public Warning System (PWS), requesting all participating fire safety museums as well as registered organizations, schools, businesses, and citizens to immediately conduct the voluntary drill by performing the following 3 steps: Drop, Cover, and Hold On. The duration of the drill is approximately one minute.
