Perpetrators often fraudulently sell popular products on Facebook groups, Marketplace, and other online platforms.
For safety reasons, it is advised that buyers should opt to meet with the seller in person to make the transaction.
The public is reminded to heed the following caution:
1. Facebook is not a shopping platform and therefore consumers making purchases on Facebook groups are exposed to high risk of fraud.
2. If a group is not listed below, do not automatically that it is safe.
3. When in doubt, call the 165 Anti-fraud Hotline.
4. Pay attention to fraud-related information on online transaction platforms and stay vigilant.
