In response to the upcoming Chinese New Year and the National Police Agency’s “Reinforcing Security During Major Holidays” policy, Taichung City Police Department has specially made provisions for “Residential police patrol for citizens (including foreign nationals)”, so that people will be able to feel at ease whenever they leave home, regardless of duration or distance. If you feel concerned about residential security, dial 110 or visit the nearest police precinct (station) to submit your application, and the police will include your home in the patrol route, or even set up a temporary patrol box near your home so that you can travel with peace of mind during the Chinese New Year. Taichung City Police Department accepted 730 residential police patrol requests last year (2019), with eligible applicants expanding to include foreign nationals. The program was well-received among citizens and foreign nationals. This year, Taichung City Police Department has further extended the depth and scope of the service; besides vigorous promotional campaigns, flyers in 4 languages (English, Thai, Indonesian, and Vietnamese) will also be printed so that foreign nationals living in Taichung will be able to return to their home countries during the Chinese New Year with peace of mind."Proactively expanding service dimensions to cater to the public's needs more closely" is one of the primary public security objectives of the Taichung City Police Department for this Chinese New Year. The aim is to allow the citizens to appreciate the police's heartwarming service during the Chinese New Year. Citizens or foreign nationals requiring residential police patrol should not miss the opportunity and submit their applications now.
