Welcoming a Safe and Peaceful Chinese New Year – Helping Missing Persons to Reunite with Their Families

The Chinese New Year and school winter break are considered important holidays in Taiwan, as they both possess the meaning of being reunited with one’s families. In order to reinforce public safety during major holidays, Taichung City Police Bureau will be upholding a proactive attitude of empathy and sympathy to conduct missing person investigations. Police officers are required to visit the families of missing persons to obtain new leads and care about the citizens, hoping to help reunite missing persons with their families. The aim is to let the public appreciate the friendliness and dedication of the police and allow them to enjoy the Chinese New Year peacefully and happily. If your family member has gone missing, please report it to the nearest precinct (police station) with the necessary ID documents and photos of the missing person. It is imperative to describe the missing person’s clothing, features, items he/she was carrying, the reason for his/her disappearance, and any unusual behavior he/she has exhibited before disappearing to the police officer. Additionally, you should also provide the missing person’s interpersonal relationships to the police officer in order to facilitate investigations.
