It is now completely closed! The filling and leveling up construction project of Wuquan (South) Rd. in Southern District, Taichung City has now entered its second phase. In this phase, the old railway bridge and the overpass connecting Jianguo North and South Rd. were scheduled to be dismantled and at the same time, broadband ducts were being installed. Therefore, drive lanes on two sides were scheduled to be completely closed during the construction period from November 23, 2020 to May 18, 2021. In cooperation with the construction, Third Precinct Taichung City Police Department pre-planned the traffic control plan to remind drivers to make a detour and follow instructions given by traffic controllers to maintain road safety. To respond to the road closure construction, Third Precinct Taichung City Police Department pre-planned the plan of "Traffic Control Posts at Important Cross-sections of Wuquan Rd. (South) Underpass Filling and Leveling up Construction" to dispatch personnel (including volunteers) to control traffic at traffic posts at peak hours at cross-sections with heavy traffic. Additionally, to facilitate smooth traffic and to avoid traffic jams, Third Precinct especially reminded that road users shall make use of alternative roads such as adjacent Guoguang Rd., Xuefu Rd., Meicun Rd., Zhongming S. Rd. and Sanmin Rd. The scope of the road closure in this phase includes all lanes on Wuquan Rd. from south to Sanmin Rd and from north to Fuxing Rd.; all lanes on Jianguo North Rd. from west to Gongguan Rd. and from east to Sanmin Rd.; and all lanes on Jianguo South Rd. from west to Fuxingyuan Rd. and from east to Sanmin Rd. Road users were suggested to make a detour and connect to Wuquan Rd. by using alternative roads such as Sanmin Rd, Guoguang Rd., Xuefu Rd. and Meicun Rd. while driving southbound and northbound. Additionally, from eastbound and westbound, drivers were advised to use Xuefu Rd. to link up to Fuxing Rd, Sanmin Rd. and Meicun Rd. to arrive at Jianguo South Rd. For those who are heading for the South District and West District, they were suggested to use Xuefu Rd., Guoguang Rd., Sanmin Rd. and Meicun Rd. as alternative routes. The public was also reminded that during the construction, all lanes in the underpass were all closed with only pedestrian walkways on both the right and left sides. At the construction sites, spaces were reserved on private lanes and alleys for the neighborhood. Third Precinct Taichung City Police Department encouraged the public to take public transportation means and drivers shall make use of mass media and broadcasting to avoid traffic jams at peak hours. Patience pays in a traffic jam and drivers shall follow traffic control signs as well as instructions of the traffic and voluntary police. Changes for the convenient traffic network the future cannot be made without inconvenience and the Police Bureau is asking for your cooperation.
