Launching new generation anti-drug strategy 2.0 – More sophisticated drug prevention and enforcement

In improving drug prevention and enforcement measures to eliminate drug abuse, the government has launched the 2nd phase of the New Generation Anti-Drug Strategy (2021-2024) as an advanced deployment measure. Approximately TWD15 billion will be invested over the next 4 years to cut off drug-related logistics flow, people flow and money flow via a holistic strategy that involves different agencies, municipalities and fields. Moreover, drug dealers in schools will be cracked down on in conjunction with the implementation of the relapse prevention mechanism to achieve the main anti-drug objective of cutting off drug flow, people and money flow. The key to implementing Strategy 2.0 lies in establishing an international liaison and intelligence coordination system for drug enforcement to increase rewards for international collaborations, tracking of domestic drug sources and preventing foreign drugs from entering the country. At the same time, the investigation tools of the customs and the Coast Guard Administration will be optimized to improve the drug enforcement intensity and density. The Peace and Drug Enforcement campaign was implemented in conjunction with 6 major systems (District Prosecutors Office, Police Department, Investigation Bureau, Military Police, Customs, and Coast Guard). Furthermore, the campus-friendly anti-drug reporting system has been established, while 581 drug-free campus police officers having been assigned to prevent the influx of drugs into schools. Also, the campaign aims to improve the students' drug awareness, refusal technique, as well as increasing the ratio of traceable reports provided through school campus intelligence and the completion rate of the school individual counseling.
