Taichung City Police Department Carries out Safeguard Security of Taichung City with the "Comprehensive Violence Crackdown Program"

In terms of several violent cases caused by car accidents, the Commisioner of the Taichung City Police Department, Tsai Tsang-Po, commanded the daily execution of the "Comprehensive Violence Crackdown Program" to counter illegal behavior and prevent the recurrence of violence by carrying out intensive patrol to eliminate violence and safeguard Taichung's security. According to the Department, on the early morning of November 7th, a university student, named Song, driving a car with his friends on their way home in Xitun District, sideswiped a Maserati sports car. The man who was driving the Maserati, named Lee and other men in his car beat Song almost to death. At present, the police have been actively investigating the case and said the "Comprehensive Crackdown Program" mobilizes all police forces and adopts tough measures to eliminate violence against security of Taichung and to boost the public confidence and trust. In addition to key patrol areas such as KTV, night clubs, pubs and sites with security hazards where criminals and members of organized crime gather, "synchronic road closure raid surrounding police raid sites” and “road raid on connective roads" are conducted to expand road raid tasks to mandatorily prevent possible derived disputes. The Police Department said violence elimination, crime fighting and firearm crackdown have always been priority tasks of the Government. In pursuit of the principle of "ending security loophole and cracking down violence, " the affiliated police agencies were requested to continuously crack down street violence, organized crime and criminal possession of weapons that seriously affect security and to protect the public from threats of violence and to build a livable living environment.
