To enhance public convenience while strengthening internal control, improve the online application mechanism, and increase application efficiency, the National Police Agency, Ministry of the Interior, announced that new application procedures will take effect on July 21, 2026. In the future, members of the public applying online for a Police Criminal Record Certificate, commonly known as a Certificate of Good Conduct, must first complete identity verification through the MyData platform, regardless of whether they choose to collect the certificate in person or receive it by mail. Applicants must also complete online payment by credit card or VISA debit card before the application is formally established and proceeds to subsequent processing. The National Police Agency also encourages eligible applicants to make greater use of the mail delivery service. After the police authority completes the certificate, it will be sent directly by registered mail to the designated address, fulfilling the goal of replacing in-person visits with online services for greater public convenience. The identity verification service on the MyData platform is connected to household registration national ID card data. This online application service is therefore available only to nationals with household registration. Nationals without household registration and foreign nationals cannot complete online verification and are therefore asked to continue applying in person under the existing procedure. From 6 p.m. to midnight on July 20, the National Police Agency will suspend its online application service to launch the new system.
