In October 2005 the number of people using the bus service officially exceeded 1,600,000 people, reaching a number of 1,644,541 people, creating a new record high. This shows that the hard work and effort put in by the Taichung city government and bus companies have received positive results from the general public. The Transportation Bureau also hopes that the bus companies will continue to improve their bus fleets, their timetable accuracy as well as service attitude so that their service quality will continue to improve and allow the public to gain even more confidence in the public transportation service system.

The Transportation Bureau expressed that the bus service network is becoming more and more extensive these days. And with more city government subsidies on ticket prices, such as special offers for route changes, discounts or free rides for the elderly and the disabled, the bus services have become a more and more popular transportation alternative for many Taichung citizens. The Transportation Bureau also noticed an increase in the number of people who have come forward to ask for the bus route handbook. Many of them are office workers and people from various walks of life, indicating that the bus service is no longer only utilized by students and elderly people. Many office workers have started taking the bus to work, which is also why this new record was made.
