Through the invitation of the Taichung city government and the passionate request of Taiwanese fans, Luciano Pavarotti, one of the three greatest tenors of the world, will be coming to Taiwan on December 14. Taichung city mayor Jason Hu and the "three greatest tenors of the world" stepped on stage and gave a performance together on November 14 at the Pavarotti Concert Press Conference, as an invitation to all Taichung citizens.

The "three tenors" were actually Taichung city's Transportation Bureau chief Mr. Lin Liang-Tai (dressed up as Jose Carreras), Director of the Planning Office Mr. Wang Dan-Sheng (dressed up as Pavarotti) and Italian baritone Richard Littman (dressed up as Placido Domigo). The three of them sang "O Sole Mio" and "Santa Lucia" in Italian and a Chinese song named "Friendship" at the press conference and won applause from everyone.

Mayor Hu once garnered a lot of attention when he dressed up as Pavarotti. This time he not only appeared with these "three tenors" to perform, he also played a video of his Pavarotti promotional video which stirred up a lot of laughter. Many reporters thought that it was actually Mayor Hu singing on the video, but Mayor Hu revealed that he had spent hours practicing lip synching, and even the director complimented him on his good performance. Mayor Hu had thought about using his own singing voice, but decided that his voice was not acceptable, which is why in the end they chose to use lip-synching for the video.

The Pavarotti Farewell Concert World Tour Taichung performance will take place on December 14 at 8pm at the Taichung Stadium.
