The century old Taichung Park has a new lease of life. Taichung City Government has reopened the clock tower and fountain at Taichung Park. The clock tower will chime at six o'clock every morning and afternoon. The fountain will also start every morning at 8 o'clock; there will be six water fountain displays each day, each display lasting 20 minutes. Apart from being aesthetically pleasing, this will also increase the oxygen level of the park pond. Citizens are welcomed to enjoy and appreciate the new look at Taichung Park.

Economics Affair Bureau Director Wang Dan Sheng expressed that the clock tower is also known as the drum tower. It was used as a watch tower, where drums are beaten to announce the time.

The Sun Moon Pond is the heart of Taichung Park. If the water becomes stagnant, the park will lose its vitality. Taichung City Government has repaired the water fountain system, so that apart from creating a great visual effect for holiday makers to enjoy, the water fountain display will also help aerate the water, increase oxygen level and provide plenty of oxygen for the fishes in the pond. Wonderful scenery is created at Taichung Park with the green pastures, blossoming water lilies, strong trees and playful squirrels in the park. The water display times are 8am, 10am, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm and 8pm. A total of six displays, each lasting 20 minutes. All citizens are welcomed to come and enjoy them at leisure.
