Taichung City TaiKe Rock Festival will be conducted in the future site of Taichung City Metropolitan Theater on May 5th and 6th, and famous rock singer Wu-Bai will appear to deliver his performances. On Apr. 2nd the promotion meeting for orientation was co-hosted by Mayor Hu and Wu-Bai. in SoGo Taichung Department Store.

　　Mayor Hu appeared and played drums with Wu-Bai in order to promote the Festival, and pretended he was a professional in the double playing although there had not been any rehearsals. However, Mayor Hu stressed he heard inharmonious drum music. Wu-Bai believed Tai Tide would be developed with the trend of Japanese Tide and Korean Tide, and that it should be in Taichung City. He felt glad that Mayor Hu emphasized local rock music and expressing his welcome to all participants at the Festival.

　　Mayor Hu pointed out that Wu-Bai’s music used to inspire people as the symbol of TaiKe rock. The Festival of 2006 sold 30, 000 tickets, much more that the original estimate of 10,000 tickets. However, almost 50,000 people visited on that occasion. The first-year Festival achieved tremendously surprising success. This year, the host unit will choose a site double that of last year to accommodate more rock lovers. Mayor Hu settled his dates with all of the people and said ‘not meeting, not leaving’ on May 5th and 6th anticipating a significant rock performance.

　　Based on Taichung City innovative cultures, Taichung City Government arranged the whole April as ‘TaiKe Tourism Season’ centered on TaiKe Rock Festival. The Season coordinates multiple life and recreational arts in the City into the delicate presentation of all-aspects and colorful innovations. 　　Mayor Hu and Wu-Bai broke the record to work together and perform the lion dance and drum team in order to create an enthusiastic opening for TaiKe Tourism Season and TaiKe Rock Festival. At the press meeting, Mayor Hu promised a wonderful performance in the Festival as a local host and invited Wu-Bai to reveal the whole-site image of the Festival which will include 12 zones and bring unparalleled performances to invoke TaiKe Tide.
