On Double Tenth, meaning 100% Happiness, 160 couples in Taichung City make take their marriage vows in the lake center (2008-10-10)

The happy wind blows to over the 100-year-old pavilion in the lake center. Toady (double 10th) there are 160 couples gathering in Taichung Park to have their wedding ceremonies. The joint wedding ceremony in such athe joyful atmosphere of the nation’s birthday was witnessed and blessed by Mayor Hu, and with 160 couples here to exchange their vows to become legally wedded wives and husbands. People around are contagious forThe happiness by from those the couples who are mostly sweated much in such as sunny day, but stay maintained highly enthusiastic with sweet smiles, was contagious.


When offering his felicitations, Mayor Hu states stated that today’s good weather symbolizes the warming start of marriage, but winds and rains are not unavoidable in the marriage, where couples shall mutually understand and assist to goeach other through the rest of the life.


Mayor Hu expresses that the Double Tenth in 100-year-old Pavilion in the lake center is equal to 10*10=100, meaning 100% happy marriage.


Today the second joint wedding ceremony for Taichung residents and government employees has had the highest record in terms of registration number. Couples are led by flower boys and girls, little angles, and little fairies to walk into the wedding site with blessings. 160 couples, ordered by Mayor Hu, kiss each other for 3 minutes, much admired by audiences who also seem shamed. The sweet 3 minutes are testing the new couples and also the leading of the Mayor’s announcement for of them becoming wives and husbands.


In the joint wedding ceremony, also “express services for wedding registrations in happy Taichung”, employees of household registration offices from 8 districts are mobilized to the Taichung Park to immediately register for those couples.
