To help our working-class friends relax from work, the Labor Affairs Bureau of Taichung City Government held “Taichung City Labor Fun Event 2012” at the Summer Green Park on December 16, 2012. More than 1,000 friends took part in the event. Deputy Mayor Jong-shyoung Shyu (徐中雄), City Councilor Liu Shi-zhou (劉士州) and Lai Shu-hui (賴淑惠, Director-general of Labor Affairs Bureau) were also present. Deputy Mayor Shyu said that working pressure exists everywhere; not only our working-class friends but also the elected officials and civil servants suffer from it; it is important that everyone should find a healthy way to release the pressure.
The most featured program in the event was a game called "Who Makes the Loudest Noise”, in which people were taught to scream out all their pressure. Many people took part in this competition, including City Councilor Zhu Muan-ying (朱暖英), City Councilor Liu Shi-zhou and Director-general Lai Shu-hui.
It was obvious that “Taichung City Labor Fun Event 2012” was very well received. Many people queued up in front of the booths for games, free medical services, massage, or consulting. It is important that we learn to relieve ourselves from work pressure. The Labor Affairs Bureau of Taichung City Government vows to work harder to maintain and activate productivity, create a win-win situation for both the employees and the employers, improve life quality for our working-class friends, reduce work pressure, establish quality work environment, and enhance the industrial competitiveness of Taichung City.
