Taichung City has a labor force of 1.32 million people, accounting for nearly half of the population. To celebrate Labor Day, the Labor Affairs Bureau of Taichung City Government has been organizing a series of events during the period from mid-April to June, including the recognition of model workers, concerts performed by visually impaired musicians, “Happy Partner Labor Carnival”, joint recruitment programs, large-scale job fair, Labor Film Festival, keynote speeches, and law promotion activities. Everyone is cordially invited to participate. Through the series of activities, the Labor Affairs Bureau hopes to recognize the contributions of our labor force and to raise the awareness of labor rights.

“Happy Partner Labor Carnival” will be held at Qiu Hong Ku Ecological Park (秋紅谷生態公園) on the afternoon of May 26, 2013. There will be singing contests, tacit agreement test games, occupational group interaction zone, stress relief experience zone, and labor laws consultation zone. With the rich and diverse contents, the Labor Affairs Bureau hopes to give all the participants a happy afternoon.

In the occupational group interaction zone, each participant can get a postcard to write down thank-you-notes to a co-worker. The organizer will help deliver the warm and friendly message to the recipient. In the stress relief experience zone, you may play a basketball shooting machine; a hamster hit game, or a boxing machine to help relieve pressure. There will be also free massage and haircut services.

Combining the efforts of employees, employers and the Government, the Labor Affairs Bureau has a dream to build Taichung City into a land suitable for work, life, bread and love. Thus, the Labor Affairs Bureau has invited many firms and agencies in central Taiwan to offer concessionary programs during this Labor-Day season. Those who have promised to join include the Lihpo Land (麗寶樂園), National Museum of Natural Science, Taiwan Provincial Farmers 'Association Leisure Farms (Tian Ma pasture), Houli Horse Ranch, Changhua County Farmers Dongshih Forest Amusement Park, and many movie theaters, hotels, caterers, bookshops, and pastry shops/companies. You are encouraged to take advantage of the promotion (discount) programs by presenting documents (such as your employee card, trade union card, Labor and Social Security card, and so on) to prove your labor identity. The Labor Affairs Bureau hopes more enterprises, groups, and vendors will join this “Deals & Offers” program.
