Mr. Gao adopts the center tip theory. In this way, the strokes will be full of strength and vigor. Some works are shown in a creative seal carving form. Most seal carving works are in groups and large seals with multiple characters engraving ancient proses, poems, verses, Yuan opera and folk songs. He engraved the 4 Taiwanese songs Craving for the Spring Wind, Flowers in the Rainy Night, Sunset at Tamsui and Illusionary Dream By Riverside on 6 sides of 4 large seals respectively. They are rare in seal carving world and are the most unique works in the exhibition. Moreover, he engraved the Thousand Character Classic on 250 four-character seals with large-scale work rarely seen in previous exhibitions.
Inkstones are the longest living among the Four Treasures of the Study with a hidden meaning of long life. After turning 60 years old, Mr. Gao started to hand engrave on inkstones leveraged his experience and expertise in calligraphy and seal carving which is hard to come by. Limited by physical strength and wrist power, there is rarely any artist either side of the Taiwan Strait who turns from seal carving to inkstone engraving.
