As the hot summer season arrives, the much loved Summer Water Play Area at Zhongke Park, located at the end of the Tanya Shen Green Bikeway, is scheduled to open on July 4. The Tourism and Travel Bureau of Taichung City Government stated that the water play area features mist and water curtain spray facilities, a tunnel fountain, a volcano fountain, and two water cannons. Staff will conduct regular inspections and manage water quality, while a nearby service station with changing and shower facilities has also been thoughtfully provided to greatly improve safety, hygiene, and comfort for families. These facilities not only allow children to play to their hearts’ content, but also let adults enjoy a refreshing summer experience. Families are warmly invited to come and enjoy the fun together.
Mei-Hsiu Chen, Director General of the Tourism and Travel Bureau of Taichung City Government, stated that the Summer Water Play Area at Zhongke Park will be completely free of charge and is scheduled to be open from July 4 to August 30. Opening hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday, with water released for 10 minutes on the hour and half hour. She also reminded visitors that eating and running are prohibited in the water play area, and that they should not look directly into the spray nozzles in order to avoid danger. Visitors are also encouraged to help take care of the water play facilities so that children and adults alike can use them safely.
The Tourism and Travel Bureau noted that the Tanya Shen Green Bikeway is approximately 13.1 kilometers long. Its starting point is on Zhongshan Road in Tanzi District, where it connects with the Tanxin Bikeway Pedestrian Bridge, and its end point is Zhongke Park in Daya. Along the route, the lush greenery forms a series of green tunnels, and the path has a gentle slope, making it especially suitable for outdoor cycling and leisure activities for families. In addition to enjoying the Summer Water Play Area at Zhongke Park, visitors can also ride bicycles and take in the rural scenery along the way.
