On August 15th, Jason Hu, the mayor of Taichung City, said the best pineapple cake in Taiwan was baked in Taichung, because all of the Taichung pineapple cake bakeries are the best and they use the best pineapple to make the best pineapple cakes. He would organize a delegation to market them in China and the countries of the Muslim Culture Circle. He said that he is confident to introduce the delicacy to the whole world.

In order to promote the pineapple cake, the Taichung City Government hosted a promotional event��"“2010 Taichung Good Pineapple Cake Festival”. On August 15th, Taichung City and the County Bakery Association also organized the “Taichung Pineapple Cake Carnival” at the Lake Heart Pavilion in Taichung Park. They offered a “buy one and get one free” discount and free delicious pineapple juice and pineapple slices for visitors. It attracted thousands of people.

Jason Hu was invited to join the carnival and give a speech to the audience. He told them that the estimated sales volume of Sun Cake was about NTD 30 to 50 million 8 years ago. As of last year, it has grown to NTD 410 million. Therefore, the sales volume of the bakery industry has increased to more than NTD 1 billion. He said this proved that the bakery products of Taichung were the best, and therefore people love the buy them.

Jason Hu said that the taste of pineapple cake products were very tasty. In the early years, not all of the exported pineapple cakes were made with pineapple. Now, the pineapple cakes of Taichung are all made with high quality pineapples. Therefore, he can proudly introduce them to the world. The best pineapple cake in Taiwan is made in Taichung.

Jason Hu also announced that he will organize a delegation to China to promote pineapple products and develop a new market for the bakers in Taichung. According to the survey, on average, each Chinese tour group spends NTD 20,000 to 30,000 in

Taipei. He hopes they will shop in Taichung as well.

The organizer of the carnival also presented a model of Lake Heart Pavilion which was made with 5,000 pieces of pineapple cake. Hu said it was very beautiful. He recommended people to eat the pineapple cake instead of regular cake to celebrate the up-coming Chinese Valentine's Day.
