Taichung Fiber Craft Museum is the first fiber-themed public museum in Taiwan, which was unveiled today. Mayor Lin Jialong said that in recent years, Taichung and the Ministry of Culture have gradually integrated resources and carried out a number of collaborations. It has clearly positioned the development direction of the fiber craft museum, has taken the first step to promote the culture of the weaving process, and combines the art of weaving with children's art to plan many activities suitable for parent-child participation, and will become a good educational field in the future. Minister of Culture Zheng Lijun affirmed that the Fiber Craft Museum combines the tradition of the weaving process in middle Taiwan, and the assembly process and fashion design, which is a model of forward-thinking infrastructure, with new thinking and first execution rate.

The Taichung Fiber Craft Museum introduces fiber materials, materials, types and related techniques to promote the spirit of "fiber, fashion and green crafts". After the opening, in addition to a rich exhibition, the multi-functional auditorium, workshops, etc. will be opened in the future. The region has become a parent-child aesthetic education base that integrates display, education, sightseeing and leisure, and has become a new cultural highlight.

Mayor Lin unveiled the Fiber Craft Museum with the Minister of Culture Zheng Lijun, the City Councilors Zhang Fenyu and Li Tiansheng and the architect of the Renovation Fiber Craft Museum Jiang Lejing. Mayor Lin said that after the merger of the county and city in Taichung City into a municipality, the municipal government actively shortened the gap between urban and rural areas to promote balanced development. The positioning of the reclamation area is urbanization, strengthening the combination with the original urban area. The efforts are not only reflected in the construction of transportation, water conservancy, industry, etc., but also in education and culture. He expressed the gratitude for the Ministry of Culture for paying attention to the fiber craft museum and also the efforts of the public opinion representative to communicate with the Ministry of Culture.

The Fiber Craft Museum, which was unveiled today, is the first municipal museum in Taichung City. With the support of the Ministry of Culture and the forward-looking program budget, it is the first museum in Taiwan to be based on fiber art culture. Through cooperation between the central and local governments, the old children's art gallery was revitalized and reused. From the urban area to Dali, Wufeng and other places, there are rich cultural resources along the way, including the Fiber Craft Museum, Central Taiwan Film and Television Base, and the International NGO Center, and further to the National Taiwan Process Research and Development Center of Nantou Caotun, which has become a cultural corridor, and will become the corridor for culture and sightseeing.

Minister of Culture Zheng Lijun pointed out that Mayor Lin’s cultural construction and vision for Taichung is similar to that of the central government. In recent years, the central government’s cultural policy, Taichung City has always been a leader in local planning and promotion of implementation and efficiency; today's Fiber Craft Museum is the best example of the promotion of art and cultural relics in the forward-looking infrastructure. The Fiber Craft Museum is an important milestone in the local cultural tradition, craft industry and design in Taiwan. The Ministry of Culture will also fully support the development.

The Culture Bureau said that the promotion of the Fiber Craft Museum is a combination of the spirit of the Children's Art Museum in the past and the display of the current fiber crafts. The goal is to become the development center of Taiwan's fiber industry, which not only drives the development of the fashion industry in Taichung City, but also an important link in the application of the world's design capital in 2022, symbolizing the new indicator of Taichung's move towards design capital.

The Bureau of Culture pointed out that the exhibition hall on the 1st floor of the Fiber Craft Museum "Weaving Bamboo • Zhizhu - Taiwan Contemporary Fashion Bamboo and Bamboo Art Creation Exhibition" was organized by the National Taiwan Technology Research and Development Center in cooperation with the Cultural Bureau, curated by Mr. Patricio Sarmiento of France, which will last till March 31 next year. The museum exhibits domestic and international bamboo crafts, which is both fashionable and green. This is the first international work of the Craft Center and the French “Hand in Hand” Association from 2010 to 2018. The first large-scale work was exhibited in Taiwan.

The period of the "Fiber-Flower Feast" special exhibition on the 2nd floor will be held from now until May 19th. The exhibition will feature three categories of "Fashion, Tradition, Art". A number of Taiwanese top fashion designers will be invited to make special costumes for the theme, and traditional flowers and costumes, fine fiber patterns have auspicious meanings, and the fiber art display area presents various possibilities and colorful appearances of fibers.

In Xianyan Space on 1F,, the "2018 Taichung Aboriginal Tradition and Fashion Fabric Exhibition" will invite the he Yetong Workshop, which is led by the National Treasure Youma Daluo, for planning. The exhibition will be held from now until February 24 next year, with the words "If the seeds are not dead" as the main axis to show the energy of life. Combined with the expression of electronic fabrics, it continues the spirit of traditional GAGA sharing

The first international forum: "Museum VS Fashion-2018 International Fiber Forum" will also debut on October 27. The forum will invite experts from Malaysia, South Korea, France, Taiwan of museums, dyeing and weaving industry, fashion design circles, etc., and also invite domestic and foreign professionals to participate in the theme of fiber technology and delivery speeches related to the themes of fiber technology and museum cultural relics development, fashion design, for international exchanges of fiber vision.

The Culture Bureau mentioned that the architect of the Fiber Craft Museum, Jiang Lejing, used the interweaving of fibers and the sunlight casting on the buildings to design and renovate the fiber craft museum into a warm venue space, and will continue to complete other facilities in the museum to make the Fiber Craft Museum a new cultural highlight of Taichung. The municipal government also invited students with artistic preferences to train the children to become the guides by exhibition teaching and oral training. The "Little Guides" holiday will appear regularly in the Fiber Craft Museum to tell the people the stories of the exhibits. It will let more people understand the intimacy between fiber and daily life, and also represents the sense of mission of the schoolchildren and the roots of the art seeds.

Taichung Fiber Craft Museum was unveiled today. During the period from November to December, there will be activities every week.
