If your car or motorcycle has been towed for illegal parking, the towing attendants will usually chalk your original parking spot with your license plate number, the name of the towing company and impound lot location--in Chinese. If you call the impound lot, keep in mind that the attendant will not speak English, either.

To reclaim your vehicle, you must go to the impound lot and present your vehicle registration certificate and driver's license, and pay your fine. For cars, this costs between NT$900 and NT$1,200, with additional fees charged for each day the car is left in the lot.
