2012臺中市傳統藝術節 2月12日揭開序幕
Organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Taichung City Government, the 2012 Taichung City Traditional Arts Festival will kick off on Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. at Fulfillment Amphitheater. The closing ceremony of 2012 Central Taiwan Lantern Festival will also take place at the same place, marking the first joint organization of an event by the Cultural Bureau and Tourism Bureau. A program that includes many famous singers and traditional performing arts groups promises to make this an extraordinary evening.
To ensure that citizens from every area of Greater Taichung City can join festival events, the 2012 Taichung City Traditional Arts Festival will take place at three locations over three consecutive weekends (on Saturdays and Sundays) with almost 20 performance groups: Feb. 18-19 at Taichung Seaport Arts Center (with traditional handicrafts market); Feb. 25-26 at Holotun Cultural Center (with traditional handicrafts market); and March 3 at Dongshi Hakka Culture Park. All Taichung residents are welcome to watch and enjoy these excellent performances, including traditional opera, ancient Chinese music, dance, and Chinese acrobatics.
