In order to welcome the arrival of 2019, the Taichung City Government works closely with Tri-Mountain National Scenic Area of Tourism Bureau, MOTC to organize a new year countdown party at Guguan and Lishan on December 31. Guguan Live will be scheduled with a series of concerts and performances by gathering some of the finest celebrities including MATZKA, the Best Band of Golden Melody Award; Nikita Shu, widely known as Jeannie Hsieh the Junior; Hao-Ping Huang, golden medal holder of Mr. Player, and Liu Xuan, a celebrity of the new generation. Lishan Live will features aboriginal cuisines and aboriginal bands so that the visitors are able to enjoy the food and music to their hearts’ fullest content. In the next morning on January 1st, 2019, a flag raising ceremony will be held in front of the Lishan Guesthouse in celebration of the new year. Today (26), Information Bureau of Taichung City Government held a press conference on "2019 New Year Countdown Party of Guguan and Lishan" at Taichung City Government on Taiwan Boulevard. Deputy Mayor Yang, Director Lin of Tourism and Travel Bureau, Director Ko of Tri-Mountain National Scenic Area of Tourism Bureau, MOTC, and City Councilors Jan, Chen, Liu, and Lai welcome the general public to take part in the new year countdown party at Guguan and Lishan. Deputy Mayor Yang pointed out that the highest new year countdown party is located right in Lishan while the warmest new year countdown party is located right in Guguan. Everyone is welcome to enjoy the warm hot spring in Gugan and take part in the new year countdown party in both Guguan and Lishan. In addition, the Fengyuan Bus 865 is allowed to operate on Central Cross-Island Highway this November and the general public may also choose to take Fengyuan Bus 865 to reach Guguan and Lishan. Taichung City Government also prepared 50 hicking umbrellas as gifts for passengers who take Fengyuan Bus 865. Director LIN, HSIAO-CHI of Tourism and Travel Bureau pointed out, Guguan and Lishan are widely famous for their natural sceneries, farm products, and hot springs. Visitors may choose to spend their new year's eve in these tourist attractions to enjoy the most natural travel experiences. Visitors may also choose to take part in the flag raising ceremony held in front of the Lishan Guesthouse on January 1st, 2019. Tourism and Travel Bureau pointed out that Guguan Live will be scheduled with a series of concerts and performances by gathering some of the finest celebrities including MATZKA, Nikita Shu, Hao-Ping Huang, Liu Xuan, and a well-known aboriginal performance group. Additionally, there will be food stalls and entertainment stalls arranged on site so that the general public is able to enjoy food and entertainment to their hearts’ fullest content. Lishan Live will celebrates the night with a large rock concert featuring celebrities and famous singers such as Taiwan Aboriginal Dance Culture & Arts Group, Lishan 7 Wolves, Thunder Roller, and Independent Race. Additionally, there will be 50 aboriginal style rotisserie chickens and interactive games arranged on site with the entire event just around the corner. After Lishan Live is over, a flag raising ceremony will be held in front of the Lishan Guesthouse in the next morning at 8:00am on January 1st, 2019 and the first 100 individuals taking part in the ceremony will be provided with a scarf as a limited edition souvenir. Additionally, passengers who take the last Fengyuan Bus 865 at 16:15pm on December 31 and the first Fengyuan Bus 865 at 6:45am on January 1 to reach the flag raising ceremony will be provided with a hiking umbrella as a limited edition souvenir. Tourism and Travel Bureau pointed out that the new year countdown parties of Guguan and Lishan also cooperate with local accommodation business operators to launch consumer lucky draw activities from December 24 to 31. Tourists who make purchases of NT$300 or over at any of the cooperative stores are provided with one lottery card, enjoying the rare opportunity of bringing home accommodation coupons, hot spring coupons, electrical appliances, 3C products, with a total 100 types of different prizes.
