As 2019 draws near with the holiday season in full swing, everyone is looking towards to the new year's eve celebration. This year, a new year countdown in the vicinity of Taichung World Flora Exposition will be held at Parking Lot 2 of LIPAO Outlet in Houli District while another new year countdown that features rock music will be held at Fulfillment Amphitheater and Wen-Xin Forest Park of Taichung City. As a new year countdown with double stages, Taichung City has gathered the finest celebrities scheduling a series of concerts and performances that turn the city into a large rock concert including Taiwanese Rock-star Wu Bai, Taiwanese Singer Crowd Lu, Taiwanese Rock-band Quarterback, and many other local bands of Taichung City. When the countdown enters the final stage, a ferris wheel light show will be brought into life for a special, exciting, out-of-the-ordinary New Year’s Eve Celebration that no one will ever forget! Mayor LU, XIU-YAN welcomes everyone to participate in this grand event to welcome the arrival of 2019.

Today (27), Information Bureau of Taichung City Government held a press conference on "2019 Taichung Double-Stage New Year's Eve Celebration". Accompanied by the Director of Information Bureau, Taichung City Mayor attended the press conference along with City Councilors, Service Representatives, Lihpao Resort Vice Chairman, Executive Assistant, Executive Vice President, TBC General Manager, and SET Creative Marketing Vice President. Artist Amber An, Rock Band Quarterback, and local bands of Taichung such as Heroine, Hercules, and The Last Punch also took part in the event, promoting the activity and bringing the party to life.

Mayor Lu pointed out that there were only few days left before the year 2019 arrives for which Taichung City will be home to the one and only double-stage new year countdown that celebrates the night with a large rock concert featuring celebrities and famous singers, including TV Host Ken Lin, Experienced Organizing Unit, Rock Band Quarterback, 831, Fire EX., Mixer, Singer Wu Bai, Amber An, Eve Ai, as well as many other independent local bands of Taichung City.

Mayor Lu thanked all the celebrities and artists from the entertainment circle for preparing such a wonderful warm-up party for the upcoming new year countdown in Taichung City. At the press conference, she sent a red scarf to the host of that night - Ken Lin, thanking him for hosting new year countdowns in Taichung City for so many years in a row. Due to the strong wind in Houli District, a red scarf was sent to Ken Lin to remind him to keep warm.

Director Wu of Information Bureau pointed out that Mayor Lu will absolutely accompany all the citizens to welcome the arrival of 2019. So far, Mayor Lu is arranged to show up on the new year countdown at Houli District while he himself will show up on the new year countdown that features rock concert on the other side.

Quarterback Leader Lion King and Singer A-Shan pointed out that they were both very happy to take part in the new year countdown this time and were both very excited on the thought of getting reunited with so many local bands in Taichung City. Artist Amber An explained that due to the wide support and encouragement from so many fans in the Taichung countdown last year, she decided to choose a cloth design with semi-transparent style to give everyone a pleasant surprise this year. As a new year countdown with double stages, a new year countdown party in the vicinity of Taichung World Flora Exposition will be held at Parking Lot 2 of LIPAO Outlet in Houli District (6:00pm on Dec. 31) while another new year countdown party that features rock music will be held at Fulfillment Amphitheater and Wen-Xin Forest Park of Taichung City (13:00pm on Dec. 30 & Dec. 31).

In the new year countdown of Houli Live, popular entertainers and famous pop singers are invited to give live performance at the warm up party including Wu Bai, one of the biggest rock-stars in the Mandarin Music territory; Crowd Lu, prize-winner of the Golden Bell Award and Golden Melody Award; GBOYSWAG, disc jockey of the former rock band Magic Power; 831, band for the famous song The Last Day of Summer; EGGPLANTEGG, Best New Artist (Vocal Category) of Golden Melody Award; Amber Ai, actress who plays key roles in many Taiwanese dramas; Eve Ai, Best Mandarin Female Singer at the 28th Golden Melody Awards; Kimberley Chen, Australian singer, actress and model based in Taiwan and many others.

In the new year countdown of Taichung Live, senior artists and local bands of Taichung are invited to give live performance at the warm up party. A total of 3 major feature stages are installed including the Flora Stage for live performances to be delivered by indicative Asian bands, Green Stage for live performances to be delivered by cross-cultural bands, and Sound Stage for live performances to be delivered by new bands selected from the open auditions throughout the entire Asia. Under the joint performances of nearly 50 bands from 6 countries and regions, Taichung Live features popular bands such as 831, Fire EX., Chthonic, Mixer, bands from Japan and South Korea that everyone loves.
This year, Houli Live will integrate the indicative Ferris wheel "Sky Dream" with the latest augmented reality technology to create a 110-second bright and dazzling light show that incorporates colorful floral images to become the one and only "countdown light show" in Taiwan. In addition to Houli Live and Taichung Live, a live broadcast will be installed at the Front Plaza of Taichung City Government on Taiwan Boulevard during the new year's eve so that the general public could enjoy the Houli Live at the third location. General public may also choose to watch live broadcast through multiple channels such as SET Metro, China Television, radio stations, internet, and YouTube to experience the lively atmosphere at the comfort of their homes.

Information Bureau pointed out that due to the traffic control around the venue during new year countdown, the general public is advised to take public transportation to avoid traffic jams. Taichung City Government planned a total of 4 bus route with a total of 140 shuttle buses operating from Houli Railway Station, Flora Exposition Shengang Parking Lot Feeder Station, Flora Exposition Waipu Parking Lot Feeder Station, Maple Garden (Chaofu Road, Shizheng N. 7th Rd. Intersection ) to and from Lihpao Land.

In response to the new year countdown, Taiwan Railways Administration will increase the train schedule while the bus operator in Taichung City will cooperate with traffic diversion and working overtime.
